02 Apr 2010
Monday 8th February saw Colcrete Eurodrill crowned Championship winners and gain promotion to the Premiership. They will be joined in the big time next season by runners up Pathetico Madrid.
Colcrete Eurodrill have been an ever present fixture in the Championship division, since the league launched in Summer 2006. After nine season’s in the division, the team can celebrate finally gaining promotion. Led by captain Paul Jones, the team stormed into the Premiership in style, finishing ten points clear at the top. It is a superb and well deserved achievement, by the team. They will no doubt be looking forward to the challenges of the Premiership and based on this season’s performances, could make a real impact.

Colcrete Eurodrill - Champiopnship Winners!
The race for the final promotion spot went right to the wire as Rampton Rovers and Pathetico Madrid entered the final night separated by just one point. In a bizarre twist, the pressure seemed to get to both teams, as they both lost their final games. This meant Pathetico Madrid secured the runners up spot and will be playing Premiership football next season. The team, led by Mike Andrews, have now been promoted to the top flight twice in four seasons. They will be hoping they can now establish themselves in the Premiership next season. It was bad luck for Rampton Rovers, who, along with the likes of First Reserves, Norfolk ‘n’ Chance and Beaver Fever, will feel they have a good chance of promotion next season. Relegation saw the two newly promoted sides finding the Championship just a little too much and both head back to League One next season.
The golden boot capped a great season for Colcrete Eurodrill as star man Craig Ritchie won the award with a record of 27 goals. Chris Smith from Rampton Rovers was second with 24 goals.
The golden glove went to Beaver Fever with a record of just 24 goals conceded. A fantastic achievement for a team who finished in sixth position.
Congratulations to all teams that took part in a great season.
