Match Night news:

The Toyoda Girls win The Sheffield Netball League One – Spring 2008

14 Apr 2008

Wednesday 9th April saw The Toyoda Girls crowned as Sheffield Netball League One champions and win promotion, along with runners up Court Out!

The Toyoda Girls, led by captain Natalie Bateman, stormed to the League One title and into the Championship, eventually winning the division by 13 clear points.  The team won promotion in style only losing two matches all  season, those to Pink Ladies and eventual runners up Court Out.  On the way to the title the team fired in 364 goals and only conceded 204 goals in 15 games - a record head and shoulders above their rivals and making them well deserved winners of the title.  On the back of such an impressive season long display the team will feel they have nothing to fear in the Championship next season and will be looking to take the division by storm!

The Toyoda Girls - Champions!

The race for the runners up spot went to the wire with Court Out and Green Goddesses level on points going into the last night of the season.  Court Out held the advantage with a far superior goals difference but had the difficult challenge of needing to record a win against the  champions Toyoda Girls to gain promotion.  In a fantastic display, the Court Out team, who have had an amazing second half of the season, continued their good form to record an impressive 21-13 win over The Toyoda Girls to all but secure promotion and cap a great season.  The Green Goddesses were narrowly beaten by the ever improving Pink Ladies in their last game, which confirmed Court Out as runners up.  It was unlucky for Green Goddesses who finished third for the second season in a row.  Pink Ladies took fourth spot ahead of Eckington Red Wings who also impressed in their first season in the league, both teams will feel they can challenge for promotion next season.

Court Out - Runners Up!

Congratulations to all teams who took part in what was a great season.  We look forward to another exciting season starting on Wednesday 30th April.
