Elite take the Premiership Title for Summer/Autumn 09, leaving Dynamix in the runners up spot
20 Jan 2010
Elite completed a fantastic season in the Sheffield Netball Premiership, lifting the trophy for the second time in their four year history in the league.
They held off competition from their closest rivals, Dynamix, who ended the season 4 points below them in the runners up spot. Elite did not have it all their own way throughout the season, with a number of hard fought battles, which included losing points against MBC. However, their consistency and team work, led by captain Katy Burnett, is what eventually won them the title.
Elite - two time Premiership champions!
Dynamix will be disappointed with their runners up spot, having taken the title in the previous two seasons. However, with an overall record which boasts 6 Premiership titles and 3 runners up spots, they should be proud of their achievements.
Dynamix - Premiership Runners Up!
MBC finished in third, having failed to crack into the top two spots for the fourth consecutive season. However, with great performances including a 25-24 win against Elite, they must have confidence that they can end the next season with a trophy.
It was disappointment for the two promoted teams - The Shadows and Pink Ladies - who both head back down to the Championship. Both teams put in some good performances during their time in the top flight and must feel hopeful for a quick return.
The player of the season award goes to Rachel Hall of the Toyoda Girls, for the second season in a row, with a staggering record of 11 nominations. This a new all time record for any division and makes Rachel a true league legend.
Rachel Hall - record breaking season!
Congratulations to all teams who took part in a great season and best of luck in the new season.
