DLA Divas Win The Sheffield Netball League One Title – Winter/Spring 09/10

Wednesday 9th June saw DLA Divas crowned Sheffield Netball League One winners and gain promotion to the Championship. The runners up position and final promotion spot went to Mavericks.
DLA Divas had suffered the disappointment of consecutive relegations over the past couple of seasons. However, the team stormed back to form this season and back into the Championship at the first time of asking. Led by captain Jennifer Morris, the DLA Divas team clinched the title on the last night of the season thanks to a superior goal difference over rivals Mavericks. They will feel they are now better equipped to face the challenges of the Championship next season and will hope to establish themselves as a force in the division next season.
DLA Divas - League One Winners
DLA Divas and Mavericks were by far the stand out teams this season, with both only losing two games and finishing some fourteen points clear of third placed Northstars. Even though Mavericks, led by Kelly Wardle, will be disappointed to miss out on the title by goal difference, they can still be proud of a great season which sees them return to the Championship after just a two season absence.

The form of Emily Pepper was another highlight for DLA Divas as their star player finished the season with an amazing eight player of the match nominations, winning the player of the season award.
