Flying Foxes Win The Sheffield Netball League One Title – Summer 2011

Wednesday 21st September saw Flying Foxes crowned League One winners and gain promotion to the Championship. The runners up position and final promotion place went to DLA Divas.
After last season’s disappointment of relegation, Flying Foxes stormed to the League One title and back to the Championship in style. The team have played in the Premiership in the past and that pedigree shone through this season, as they played some superb netball. They will hope to carry this form into the new season and make a big impact in the Championship.
Flying Foxes - League One Winners
The race for the runners up spot went right to the wire, as DLA Divas and Netbelles clashed on the final night of the season, in a winner takes all match. It was DLA Divas who held their nerve to run out 18-10 winners and leap frog Netbelles into second. DLA Divas now return to the Championship after just a two season absence.
The player of the season award was won by Tanya Wills from Sheffield YOS, with an impression record of six nominations
