Match Night news:

Mixed Mayhem Storm to The Sheffield Netball Premiership Title – Summer/Autumn 06

02 Nov 2006

Last night (1st November) saw Mixed Mayhem crowned as The Sheffield Netball Premiership winners in their first ever season, with NHS Dream Team taking the runners up spot.

In a fantastic first season in the league, Mixed Mayhem managed a 100% record - winning all 16 matches in a dominant season long display.   Led by team captain Lesley Athorn-Mico, Mixed Mayhem fired in over 500 goals on their way to the title and only conceded 121.  These stats reflect the tremendous team effort that has landed Mixed Mayhem the title.  Mixed Mayhem eventually won the league by 14 clear points and are well deserved winners of The Sheffield Netball Premiership.  They will no doubt be looking to make it two in a row next season!

Mixed Mayhem - Undeafted Champions!

It was also a great first season in the league for NHS Dream Team who took the runners up spot by just one point ahead of last season’s runners up Braunettes.  Led by team captain Katy Smith, NHS Dream Team completed an impressive first season and pushed Mixed Mayhem close in both their encounters with the champions.  NHS Dream Team will now feel they can go one better next season and mount a serious challenge for the title!   Braunettes can also be pleased with their season’s performance, particularly with their fire power as they netted a total of 465 goals!!  During their two seasons in the league they have finished runners up and a very close third place – which is a fantastic record and so they will also feel they can be title challengers in the new season!   Fourth place went to The Flying Foxes who were the most improved team in the league finishing two places higher than last season!

NHS Dream Team - Premiership Runners Up!

Congratulations to all teams who took part in what was a great season.  We look forward to another memorable season starting on Wednesday 22nd November, when the league is being expanded to two divisions so we’ll have the added excitement of promotion and relegation battles.
