Women With Balls Storm to The Sheffield Netball Championship Title – Winter 06/07

Wednesday 14th March saw Women With Balls crowned as Sheffield Netball Championship winners and gain promotion to the Premiership. They will be joined in the big time by runners up The Toyoda Girls!
Women With Balls completed a dominant season long display with a hard fought 20-14 win over the ever improving Champs, to record a 100% record of 12 wins out of 12! The team lead by captain Sam Smith stormed to the title eventually winning it by 12 clear points! They are without question deserved winners and after such a scintillating season will feel they are well equipped not only to stay in the Premiership but make a big impact in the new season!

The race for the runners up spot was a much closer contest with Court Out and The Toyoda Girls vying for the final promotion place, separated by just one point going into the last night of the season, with The Toyoda Girls holding the advantage. Court Out completed their part with a 29-4 victory over Mighty MBC to put the pressure on The Toyoda Girls who knew only a win would ensure them Premiership netball next season. The team, however, held their nerve with an 18-3 victory over Ha Ha and were confirmed as runners up. It completed a great season for both teams. Court Out will start as one of the favourites next season as they look to go one better and The Toyoda Girls can now look forward to testing themselves against the best in the Premiership!
